The new Zoostorm SL8 Slate computer provides the latest in light weight, portable and “when I need it” computing for the NHS.
Cloud2 offer the SL8 as part of our eForms and Discharge management solutions or as a separate hardware option for trusts needing to equip their clinical and mobile staff.
With an 11.6 inch (1366 x 768) multi-touch screen, WiFi, SSD drive and a weight less than 1 kg it is the perfect tool for use by staff who need to be mobile, such as clinical ward staff, infection control teams, doctors and hands on managers.
The Zoostorm SL8 slate is designed for business:
- The large screen makes it easy to read and update applications
- Windows 7, with its excellent multitouch capabilities, supports the standard security and applications used by trust, including Office and InfoPath Filler
- Use of InfoPath Filler 2010 avoids the need for Enterprise Client Access Licences for all staff*
- Flash and Silverlight support ensure existing Rich Internet Applications (RIA) can be used
- Optional docking station, silicone jacket and other accessories provide flexibility for a range of clinical and business environments
- USB interfaces to support smartcard readers and other peripherals
On busy wards staff routinely struggle to get access to the computers they need, when they need them. General purpose PCs are always in demand. Cloud2 commonly recommend providing the SL8 as ‘appliances’, focused on specific tasks, such as completion of eForms and managing discharge, allowing a single device to support an entire ward, for example.
