I did a fair demo today to one of our clients on the power of Excel + SharePoint for Business Intelligence, based on the demo I build a couple of weeks back. It went pretty well and they were suitably impressed by the power and usability that can be wrought without moving up to PerformancePoint. Of course we do that too, but I love how you can give information teams the option to publish their work top the organisation without spending gazzillions on high end analysis and reporting tools. We found it integrates really nicely into pages in Cloudbase, our SharePoint 2010 based intranet, and is a good example of external web content being surfaced through SharePoint.
